How to Share Text Between Devices Instantly

Updated July 2026 · 4 min read

The universal clipboard problem

Apple's Universal Clipboard only works Apple-to-Apple. Windows and Android need Phone Link, KDE Connect or third-party apps to sync clipboards. And none of them help across ecosystems.

A one-way, cross-OS clipboard

Copy Cloud is exactly that: paste on any device, share a 6-character code, retrieve on any other device. It works iPhone↔Windows, Android↔Mac, Linux↔iPad, anything with a browser.

Great for

Long URLs, boarding pass numbers, Wi-Fi passwords, 2FA backup codes you need to type on another screen, code snippets during debugging, tracking numbers to send to family.

How to do it

1. Open copycloud.me. 2. Paste your text into the Send tab. 3. Read the 6-character code to the other device (or scan the QR). 4. Retrieve tab shows the text - copy to clipboard with one tap.

Safer than DMs

Sending your Wi-Fi password over WhatsApp leaves it in the chat forever. Copy Cloud deletes it in 24 hours automatically.
