How to Send Large Files for Free Without Signing Up
Updated July 2026 ยท 4 min read
Why free file-sharing sites got worse
WeTransfer keeps shrinking its free tier. Google Drive requires sign-in. Firefox Send is dead. Most 'free' services now push you to accounts, ads and email captures.
What no-login tools still exist
A small set of browser-only clipboards still let you send files without any sign-up. Copy Cloud is one of them, alongside a few peer-to-peer alternatives.
Using Copy Cloud
Open copycloud.me, drop your file on the Send tab, and share the 6-character code (or QR) with your recipient. They open Copy Cloud, type the code, and download.
Current limits
The free tier supports files up to the size shown on the Send tab, plenty for photos, PDFs and everyday documents. A Pro plan with larger caps (up to 1 GB) plus password protection and custom expiry is planned.
What Copy Cloud is not
Not a long-term backup, not a permanent hosting service. Every clip self-deletes after 24 hours - by design. If you need permanence, use a proper cloud drive.
